German Cockroaches are Surprisingly Fast and Agile

German cockroaches are incredibly quick for their size. They can run at speeds of up to three miles per hour, which might not seem fast to humans, but for an insect that’s barely half an inch long, that’s equivalent to a human running over 200 miles per hour. Their speed, combined with their ability to squeeze into the tiniest of cracks and crevices, makes them difficult to catch. They also have tiny hairs on their legs that can detect changes in air movement, allowing them to sense when danger is near and make a quick escape before being spotted.
